イギリスからの生徒さん

イギリスから、水墨画のプライベートレッスンに、用賀のアトリエにお越しくださいました。ロンドンアートフェアでのご縁から知り合えた出版社の方たちで、今回は新しい出版物に関するパフォーマンスを万博で開催するとのことで、これから大阪に行かれるとのことでした。
皆さん水墨画は初めてとのことでしたが、とても関心を持って下さり、楽しんで頂けたようでよかったです。
Welcomed guests from the UK to my studio in Tokyo for a private sumi-e lesson.
They’re publishers I met through the London Art Fair, and this time they came to Japan to present a new publication at the Expo in Osaka.
Although it was their first time trying sumi-e, they showed great interest and seemed to genuinely enjoy the experience☺️

応用クラス課題

今月の応用クラスの課題。2種類の揉む紙の技法を使って、古い門のある風景画を描きます。

アメリカからの生徒さん

昨年、京都での個展の際に通りすがりにふと足を止めて作品をご覧くださったことがご縁で、今年アメリカから用賀のアトリエへお越しくださり、ワークショップを開催することになりました。
水墨画は初めてとのことでしたが、90分×2セッションで、基本の筆遣いや墨の扱い方を練習したあと、竹と蓮を描きました。「とても楽しかった」と言っていただけてうれしかったです。
東京滞在のあと、京都では金継ぎのクラスに参加されるそうです。

Chris came from the United States. He visited my solo exhibition in Kyoto last year, and this year he reached out again, saying he’d like to try sumi-e painting.
We had a private lesson at my studio consisting of two 90-minute sessions.
It was his first experience with sumi-e, so we began with basic brush techniques and ink control, and then he painted bamboo and lotus.
I was glad to hear that he really enjoyed it☺️
After his stay in Tokyo, he’ll be taking a kintsugi (gold repair) class in Kyoto.

国際墨画会水曜英語対応クラス紫陽花を描く

国際墨画会水曜英語対応クラス生徒さん作品。大胆な構図の作品から、繊細で美しい色合いの作品まで、同じお手本でも様々な個性の美しい紫陽花の絵が完成しました☺️

Works from the International Sumie Association’s Wednesday English class. From bold compositions to delicate and beautiful color expressions, even when painting from the same reference, each hydrangea turned out uniquely beautiful, reflecting the students’ individuality. ☺️

桜上水出張教室塩を使って爬虫類を描く

桜上水出張教室生徒さん作品。塩を使って爬虫類を描きました。写真を見ながら自由に創作。生き生きとしていて、楽しい作品が完成しました。

Sakura-Josui Class. Students painted reptiles using the salt technique. While looking at photos, they created freely, resulting in lively and delightful works.
