西日暮里教室と用賀基礎クラス薔薇を描く

西日暮里教室と用賀基礎クラス生徒さん作品。花びらを丁寧に重ねて描く薔薇と、抽象的表現の薔薇の2種類を、好きな色を使って描いてもらいました。皆さんそれぞれの美しい薔薇の作品ができました🌹
この日は初参加のイギリス人生徒さんも。ミドルネームが「ローズ」とのことで、初めてのレッスンで薔薇が描けて嬉しいとおっしゃっていました☺️
Students’ Works from the Nishi-Nippori and Setagaya Basic Class.

Students created two types of roses: one with carefully layered petals, and another in a more abstract style. Using vivid colors, everyone created their own beautifully unique rose paintings.
We also had a first-time participant from the UK that day. Her middle name is “Rose,” and she said she was delighted that her very first lesson happened to be about painting roses.

1日プライベートレッスン

スペインからお越し頂いたアナさん。金継ぎのを学ぶため、京都に長期されるとのことですが、水墨画もご興味があり、1日プライベートレッスンを受講されました。以前もスペインで水墨画を学ばれたことがあるとのことで、スムーズな筆遣いが印象的でした。鳥獣戯画の模写、竹、蘭の描き方を学び、素敵な作品ができました😊

Ana from Spain is staying in Kyoto for an extended period to study kintsugi.
She is also interested in sumi-e and took a one-day private lesson at my studio in Tokyo.
She had studied sumi-e in Spain before, and her smooth, confident brushwork was truly impressive.
She practiced painting Chōjū-jinbutsu-giga (animal caricatures), bamboo, and orchid — and created a beautiful piece!

ポーランドからの生徒さん

ポーランドから来日されたアニエスカさん。
昨年、国際墨画会の通信講座で講師資格を取得されましたが、
今回はお仕事での来日を機に、空いたお時間でプライベートレッスンを受講してくださいました。

「墨で猫を描いてみたい」とのご希望で、一緒に猫を描きました🐈
久しぶりにお会いできて、脚本家としての近況もうかがえて、とても嬉しかったです。

Agnieszka, who came to Japan from Poland, obtained her instructor certification through the International Sumi-e Association’s correspondence course last year. During her recent business trip to Japan, she kindly made time to join a private lesson.

She wished to try painting a cat in sumi ink, so we worked on a cat together 🐈
It was wonderful to see her again and to hear about her recent work as a screenwriter.

用賀教室と西日暮里教室の応用クラス

用賀教室と西日暮里教室の応用クラス、生徒さん作品。
揉み紙を使った2種類の技法で石垣と白壁を描き、門は線描きで表現しながら影を重ねていきます。背景には木や竹を自然に溶け込むように添えました。
完成した作品を並べて見ると、墨色の出方が一枚ごとに異なり、とても興味深いです。

Student works from the Advanced class in the Yoga and Nishi-Nippori studios..
Using two techniques with textured (momi-gami) paper, they painted the stone wall and white plaster wall, then drew the gate in linework and layered the shadows. Trees and bamboo were added to harmonise naturally with the scene.
When the works are placed side by side, the subtle differences in ink tone stand out beautifully and are fascinating to see.

西日暮里土曜教室朝顔を描く

西日暮里土曜教室・Yさんの作品。
抽象的な朝顔の様々なパターンを練習し、その中で「この形が一番好き」と選ばれたモチーフを、何度も繰り返し描いて仕上げた一枚です☺️
